Keep calm and hug an Alpaca

Anno bisesto, anno funesto. This Italian proverb, which can be translated as "leap year, cursed year", seems to perfectly match the definition of 2020.
Since last March, the entire world has experienced an unprecedented set of natural and un-natural disasters, many of which can be linked to the stupidity of human beings.

Few days ago a huge fire burst in the post of Ancona. Lucky no one was harmed, but the causes are still not clear.

This photo would be amazing if it didn't refer to such a tragic event.

In these long months, Italians have proved to be resilient and innovative. We have found new ways to communicate and have fun, starting from singing and playing out on our balconies.

Two girls have made the lines with a video of themselves playing tennis from their roofs. Even Von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, has referred to Carola and Vittoria as two young women capable to teach a lesson to us all. This is what Italians have always done. Is there a problem? Find a solution. And this is what the two young tennis players did: they found a way to train during the lockdown.

Ok, know that we have shown how patients and clever we can be, can we simply go back to that period when we were famous for sunshine, food and awkward politicians?

More about Italy

Summer is almost over and Autumn is knocking at the door. Italy is still hot as hell, and I'm not talking about sensuality. Maybe we will have to wait a bit for the falling of leaves or rainy days where one does not feel guilty while while complaining and drinking the first hot chocolate. But for sure we do not have to wait too much for all those food events called "sagre".

With a special eye on all those expedients to protect ourselves as Covid-19 is still spreading, Italian cities and villages are hosting fairs dedicated to their main produce. On Sunday 20 and 27, the town of Alba, for example, organizes the Wine Fest.

I am also waiting for Terra Madre, Salone del Gusto, a Food Fair organized every two years by Slow Food. This year it will be "global, digital and physical", which means that you can follow it even from your country. Get comfy and grab a glass of your favourite drink.

What do you do to relax?
Personally, I go out for a walk and I do what I call active or passive shopping. Active shopping is energizing but involves the use of money. Most of the time, my money. Passive shopping is when you go out with a friend or family member and THEY spend. You get the same positive vibes but with the benefit of not spending any money. Call me in case you are here for a shopping session and you do not know who to go with.

This summer I also discovered Alpacas Therapy. It is easy. Find an Alpaca, gently hug them, repeat. If you are in Italy, you can visit Basilicata Alpaca, all info here.

Aaron, nicknamed Cotoletta, schnitzel in Italian, judging all of us.
This farm is near Acerenza, a village famous for its impressive Cathedral. It develops around a medieval centre and provides an incredible view on the surroundings.
Plus some strange stories about Dracula and a Pastoral Rod.

Not far from Acerenza, you can find the Palmenti of Pietragalla, always in the same post.

Job Opportunities

If you aim at living in Basilicata, Barilla is looking for a Maintenance Manager. Free pasta supply for the entire family (send a box to me in case you get the job).

PreGel is looking for an Export Area Manager in case you want to move to Reggio Emilia.

My English School Italia is looking for a Sales and Didactic Consultant

What's next

I still have few places in Basilicata to show and then I'll move to Campania where I tried Pizza, Pizza and...Pizza.

Stay safe,
