All we need is Love

and a slice of Pizza.

When I opened this blog some 10 years ago, I decided to talk about the less exploited subjects related to Italy. As a logo, I chose a strawberry dropping into milk because I wanted the colours of the Italian flag paired with an unconventional symbol. And strawberries are quite far from being associated to the Belpaese.

I started this blog because I wanted to talk about different locations, not just Venice or Rome or Sorrento. And even if I write about these famous destinations, I prefer to focus on the roads less travelled. But when you talk about Naples, you deliberately fall into the biggest clichè: pizza.

More about Italy

Few weeks ago, back in Torino where I work and live, I called for a pizza delivery. I received my favourite with a handwritten note on it:
"On behalf of all the staff of PIZZI COTTO, I wish to thank you for choosing us. I this way, you are giving us the opportunity to provide jobs for all the guys that every night work hard to make and deliver a good pizza! THANK YOU AND ENJOY YOUR MEAL. By the way, should you have suggestions or complaints, do not hesitate to send us a message at the number 327-8997469. We will be happy to improve".

Covid-19 has found us vulnerable and fragile. At the beginning we all felt safe in our cocoons. With smart working, a lot of time on the sofa and social distancing, we might have though that a life without traffic jam, discussion with coworkers and relatives was not that bad. I don't know you, but now I feel the urge of a human touch. And that note proves me right.

It's not just delivering pizza. It is also about hearing "thank you" and "how are you" together with the tone of voice and maybe a smile.

Btw, the box content was great, so if you are looking for a Pizza, even with delivery, while in Turin: Pizzeria Pizzi Cotto in Via Coppino. If you call with a non-Italian mobile, add 0039 before 327.

On the blog

What do you do if you are in Naples for 1 day? You can explore the ancient city centre and indulge yourself to delicious culinary delights like, guess what, pizza. I tried the famous Sorbillo, but I am afraid, the verdict is not what you might expect.
On the contrary, I went back to Scaturchio, which never disappoints my expectations.

If you want to visit Basilicata, you will also find a post about Monticchio, a location inside an ancient Volcano.

Job Opportunities

Boston Extend is looking for English teachers
Newly graduated can apply for the Graduate program of Prysmian Group always in Naples.
Talking about food, for German speakers, Dr Shär is looking for a Junior employee for the HR in Bozen in Trentino Alto Adige.

What's next

I'll try to talk about the beautiful house I rented while I was at the seaside in Campania. It will be hard, considering that now I am in Turin and it's getting colder and colder.

Blog you soon,
