When something is going wrong, we love to remember that at least we have sunshine and good weather. After a week of openings (restaurants, cinemas, theaters and museums) we have entered our tropical season. Not that we face Monsoons, but generally spring in Italy can be marked with short, unexpected and heavy rainfalls. We even a word for them: bombe d'acqua (water bombs).
So in case you plan holidays in this season, do not forget to pack umbrella and raincoat.

What does this have to do with openings? The rule now is that you can eat at the restaurants only if you can seat outside. So, unless tables are covered or somehow sheltered, you can't access a restaurant.

Luckily, Turin has more than 18 km of streets protected with arcades. Bologna too has arcades, even if not as much as the capital region of Piedmont.

More about Italy

If you are planning your holiday and are looking for the best beaches, check Bandiera Blu which rates the cleanest shores (and sea) of the countries.

In case you'd love to work imagining you are in the heart of Naples, here some background noise with people arguing and chatting. For the flavors of Napolitan sweets, I'm afraid, you must go to Naples.

Bad news for Venice (or maybe not). Covid-19 pandemic has led to the closing of a hundred hotels. The city is experiencing a heavy reduction in the tourist sector. Personally, I think it was about time to understand that Venice cannot face thousands of people packing the calli every day. Let's take this opportunity to discuss how visitors can enjoy the city given priority to quality short breaks.

And other things on the blog

Charity shops aren't very popular in Italy, but Turin has a little one that is a real jewelry box.

And right outside the city, there is a little village that look like one of those depicted in Fairy Tales.

We have implemented the Blog with a nice map of Italy. You can click on the region and find all the related posts. I swear, no webmaster has been harmed in the making. Well, not TOO much.

Maritozzo is a traditional sweet from Rome and Can be found in many bars and delis.
