Alba is not amazing for food and wine

23 April 2008 by Lori 2 Comments

Even if knowing Italian is not necessary to enjoy a holiday in our country, I will never stop suggesting to learn our language. The reason? You will understand what we write in the many signs displayed in shop windows, bathrooms, along the streets. And you will discover our sarcastic sense of humor. Need a proof? Here is what I found on a shopwindow of Alba, a lovely village in the Langhe region, famous for wine, cheese and the white truffle.

The sign recites:

“As finding a shop assistant is almost impossible… I’m looking for a wife Available to work 8 hours a day with apprentice salary”

If you are interested in applying leave a message and we will tell the shop owner.
