Nonunomeno: good for the stomach and the heart

There is a lovely risto-bar on the top floor of a public library in the center of Alassio, Liguria. If you are at the seaside, take the opportunity to have lunch in a cozy, friendly, and informal atmosphere. In this post, I’ll reveal why this place is so special. So, keep reading!

Alassio, a village on the coast of Liguria

Alassio, a captivating coastal town in Liguria, graces the Italian Riviera with its Mediterranean charm. Its stunning sandy beaches, palm-lined promenades, and picturesque harbor allure travelers seeking a serene seaside escape. The historic center, fondly known as “Budello,” boasts narrow alleys. They are adorned with boutique shops, lively cafes, and local restaurants offering delectable Ligurian cuisine. Discover the charm of the 16th-century Church of St. Ambrose and relish the idyllic atmosphere of the Piazza Partigiani. Alassio’s golden sunsets over the Ligurian Sea create a mesmerizing backdrop for unforgettable moments. The view makes it an unmissable destination for those seeking relaxation and Mediterranean allure.

A special restaurant

At “Nonunomeno” the food is excellent with big homemade dishes, from the rich mixed salads to the fresh and crusty focaccia. But what makes the place special is the project behind the restaurant.

The No profit cooperative Jobel manages the place employing students with special needs who attended the Hospitality Training Institute of Alassio. Here people turn their different abilities into creativity… and creativity in Italy expresses itself at its best when it involves food.

The walls report sentences of famous scientists, writers, philosophers reminding us that normal is just one way of being and that it is in the difference that you can spot the extraordinary.

You can find armchairs, magazines, and books in a corner (remember we are in the library) to unwind sipping juice and forgetting the time passing by. But what amazed me most was the little table near the windows: the breathtaking view was there to remember me how little we are.

With a lactose intolerance, it is not always easy to find something to eat, or to have the right information to choose my food properly. Well, I felt pampered, the guys asked the chefs how was the food prepared and I could choose properly.

Location and cost

So, to sum up: the place is lovely, the people are kind, the view is stunning. And the price? Believe it or not, is one of the cheapest places to eat in Alassio. Some 10 euros for a dish, water and a coffee. Do not miss it!

Address: Biblioteca Civica “Renzo Deaglio”, Piazza Airaldi e Durante 7, 17021, 4th floor.
